Red Ring of Death fixes do not start by wrapping up your 360 in towels and baking it. Unless you plan on setting that sucker on fire! I bet you were probably even thinking of fixing the console with a blow drier.
If all you take from this is not to do those 2 things then my job is done. Trust me you will end up frying Microsofts greatest creation and it will really be a lump on a log. I'll tell you this though, to properly fix your Xbox 360 Red Ring of Death you will not need to buy any new internal computer parts.
Here's a few things that everyone is doing wrong: 1) What's causing the Xbox 360 Red Ring of Death? The main cause is excessive "HEAT". Yup. You probably have your 360 crammed in some little space where it gets no ventilation and you play for hours right? Fix: Let it breath, but that's not the extent of the problem.
When your Xbox 360 heats up it causes your motherboard to flex and critical connections on the motherboards GPU and CPU lose their contact. "Thats Bad" Who cares right? Then all of a sudden BAM you Xbox 360 starts wigging out, you restart the console, and there lies before your sad droopy eyes the infamous, dreadful: Xbox 360 Red Ring of Death.
2) How to Fix the Red Ring of Death? For one it doesn't involve you placing your Xbox-360 in a towel, blanket or heating it up with a blow drier to rid of the Ring of Death. Those fixes are temporary and damaging - in most cases really wouldn't be considered a fix- more Isp a "let me break it some more-ix". Heres how to fix it, you need to:
- Take your 360 apart carefully (It's really not that difficult I swear but you do need instructions it just makes life easier)
- Take the Disk Drive and the Fans out
- Then you need to remove the RF Module to pull the motherboard out 4) Remove the heat sinks by carefully taking the X-clamps off.
- Clean the heat sinks and re-apply thermal paste. The rest of the Xbox 360 Red Ring of Death fix is even easier.
I know you're probably like wow that sounds difficult. But let me reassure you that even a 10 year old can fix the Xbox 360 Red Ring of Death with the right Repair guide with tons of HD Pictures, Descriptions, Step by Step Details and even video tutorials.
